This weeks updates with a touch of class!
So you may recall last weekend we had a rather terrific and popular give-away, in which we gave you guys a chance to play Evolve super early! You can read all about it here, check out my hands on article here and check out Dan's play-though underneath:
So, seeing as it was a greatly well received little success, we've decided to do more of these give-aways, and we've reached out to a few publishers/developers to see what we can get you, and this week we've teamed up with MMOBomb and Warner Bros Entertainment to giveaway Autumn Queen Poison Ivy, a rare seasonal skin for Infinite Crisis that cannot be purchased in-game! To enter, simply tweet us @PODCASTvPLAYER, comment on this article or use the 'Contact Us' section. First to contact us get's the code!
Infinite Crisis is a free-to-play MOBA featuring a deep roster of DC Comic characters, available now on PC.
We've been hard at work scheduling current content and new content alike, but we've also been hammering hard on the old analytic front; so lot's of numbers and metrics you all don't care about -- but -- we are keeping tabs on what you guys like, what you're enjoying and what you don't like, so we'll (hopefully) be able to give you more of the content you enjoy and less of the stuff you don't.
As it's update time, I figured I'd give you scamps a run down on what I've been playing this week, and to be honest, I've actually mangaged to get quite a bit of gaming in between work and chasing my son, who has discovered that surround sound speakers make a banging noise when you slam them around.
The swine.
But, I digress, I've been playing a few games this week, starting with, in no particular order:
The Crew.
Now, you may recall Dan managed to get his grubby mitts on The Crew back in July and he was very impressed with it. Now, I'm not a particular fan of racing games, unless they feature a certain fat Italian plumber, with a penchant for throwing shells at monkeys and women.
But I must admit, I'm very much enjoying The Crew, and I'm not sure why. It's a pretty standard racing affair, albeit in a ridiculously large open world MMO, but I can't quite put my finger on why I like it.
The Evil Within
I'm a big survival horror fan, and although P.T (Silent Hills) has taken the place at my most anticipated survival horror, The Evil Within is still a damn good game. Minor niggles aside, I'm loving the world that Sebastian Castellanos is exploring and each chapter up to now has provided enough jump scares and atmospheric delights that have kept me giddy as I endure the next grotesque baddie that wants to suck my face off.
The Last Of Us Remastered
Those of of you who listen to our podcasts will know that we at PvP are massive fans of The Last Of Us -- especially me. I can't get enough of Joel and Ellie's apocalyptic adventure and I've completed the Playstation 3 version around 5-6 times now. But now I'm doing it all over again on the Playstation 4; and it's phenomenal. It's hard to really explain what huge impacts the remastered has over the already (seemingly) perfect Ps3 version, but it's really not until you play it that you can see it. The Ps3 version ran at a smooth 720p at 30fps, whilst the Ps4 version runs at 1080p at 60fps, which may just sound like a slight boost, but it really is much more than that. The rich vibrant worlds pop so much more, and the trees, falling leaves, and even dust from the spores look so much more vivid and wild. The shooting also benefits from 60fps as everything is much quicker, making the action much more intense.
Hell, even the dualshock 4's speaker being used for the torch clicks is brilliant!
And now onto the weird news I've found!
This is a little under two months old, but I forgot all about it! A gamer in Japan has provoked controversy after creating a simulator that enables people to squeeze the boobs of a virtual reality "girlfriend".
