Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes PS4, Xbox One Comparison Shots

The PlayStation 4 version of Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes will run at a native 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second, Konami's official website confirms, while the Xbox One release will run at 720p at 60fps.

This follows Hideo Kojima praising the PS4, saying that his developers managed to get the game running at 1080p with room to spare, whilst the Xbox One version falls behind with 720p.

The images below are direct screen shots of the game running on Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, with the differences between the game on the last gen consoles and Xbox One very, very staggering compared to the Playstation 4 version.

It does seem that Hideo Kojima wasn't messing around when he said that Ground Zeroes looked much, much better on Playstation 4 compared to the other systems, but the fact the team said there was "still room to spare" makes us think just how much better they possibly could have made it look. More to the point though, why couldn't they achieve this on Xbox One?

Whatever the case, Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes will launch on March 18 (20th here in the UK) for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The Xbox versions will feature exclusive content featuring cyborg soldier Raiden with the "Jamais Vu" mission and the PlayStation versions will receive the "Deja Vu" add-on content.
